Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Professional Billing Supervisor to oversee claims management and insurance follow-up. This full-time role supports the Manager, Professional Billing and leads Billing Collection Representatives, ensuring timely reimbursement and adherence to policies.

The position is remote with required commutable distance to Akron, OH, and on-site for meetings as needed. Responsibilities include staff supervision, performance reporting, budget adherence, denials management

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degrees preferred.
• 3–5 years relevant experience.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Experience with coding, billing, compliance, and reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers, and strategy.
• Supervises Billing Collection Representatives and liaises with Revenue Recovery Supervisor for denials management.
• Ensures staff communicate with payers regarding delayed, denied and underpaid claims to promote timely reimbursement.
• Works with Billing Collection and Revenue Cycle Management to identify revenue enhancement opportunities.
• Provide monthly departmental reporting for quality and productivity standards, denial management, and performance improvement to Revenue Cycle leaders.
• Oversees recruiting, hiring, and training; monitors and evaluates staff performance.
• Fosters a collaborative environment to achieve department goals and thresholds.
• Uphold department and organizational goals and thresholds.
