Job summary

cwpnonproviders is seeking a Billing Specialist to ensure timely revenue collection by accurately coding and entering patient and charge data. The role requires handling denials, appeals, and follow-up while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The position is remote and open to candidates in MD, DE, VA, NJ, PA, FL, AL, GA, SC, and TX. A High School Diploma with 3+ years related experience and proficiency in MS Office are required; Medical Billing Certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years related experience
• Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent written and oral communication and customer service
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Flexible schedule
• HIPAA compliance and confidentiality awareness

Responsibilities

• Review and resolve payer denials including appeals and coding corrections
• Analyze and resolve billing issues to keep A/R under control
• Process daily correspondence, claim status, denials, appeals and re-bills
• Answer billing questions from patients and staff
• Update patient records with changes
• Monitor policy changes and inform supervisor
• Navigate payer websites to research policies and payments
• Keep supervisor informed about accounts receivable
• Respond to requests from billing company promptly
• Research denials and submit correct claims and documentation
• Review and manage claims in dashboard holds
• Create and update reports as directed
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality
• Participate in trainings and in-services
• Perform other duties as assigned
