Job summary

Kuresmart is seeking a Billing Specialist to support complete and timely revenue collection by accurately coding and entering patient and charge information. The role is remote and requires live-in approved states; you will follow up on outstanding claims and charges and resolve denials with attention to HIPAA and healthcare guidelines.

The position demands strong communication, multi-tasking, and meticulous attention to detail, with a flexible schedule and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years related experience
• Proficient with Internet and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong customer service
• Able to work independently and in a team; flexible schedule
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding rules; healthcare terminology
• Solid insurance knowledge and third-party payer guidelines
• Professional conduct with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Review payer denials and appeals; coding corrections
• Manage accounts receivable to keep 60+ day aging under 10%
• Process daily correspondence, status checks, denials and re-bills
• Answer billing questions from patients and staff
• Maintain patient records with updated information
• Stay informed on policy changes and share with supervisors
• Navigate payer portals to research payments and claims
• Provide timely responses to requests from billing company
• Investigate denials and submit accurate claims and documentation
• Maintain and update reports as directed
• Provide excellent customer service in stressful situations
