Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a part-time Billing Specialist to monitor payments for a mix of standard and complex outstanding receivable bills. The role operates on a Tuesday–Saturday 11am–8pm EST schedule in a US telecommuting capacity, with a focus on accuracy and timely collections.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in accounting or insurance billing, strong knowledge of billing systems, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of accounting, bookkeeping or insurance billing experience required.
• Experience with billing systems and data flows for medical bill review is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contacts brokers or accounts on payment discrepancies and unpaid bills to resolve receivables.
• Processes and corrects external entries and adjusts billing records.
• Researches payment deficiencies and reconciles invoices; disburses overpayments on true-up invoices.
• Reviews sold documentation and completes billing set-up.
• Coordinates correction activities and follows through to resolution.
• Prepares monthly updates for management reports.
