Job summary

IDT Technologies is seeking a Lead QA Engineer to own quality for the Net2Phone billing platform. You’ll lead testing of end-to-end billing—from rating to invoicing—while guiding automation strategy and documenting coverage.

You will read, review, and audit the team’s suites and ensure robust acceptance criteria for every user story. You will mentor QA engineers, define test plans across month-end cycles, and drive process improvements with strong SQL, Python/pytest, and Playwright skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in QA with hands-on production billing, rating, or payments system.
• Working knowledge of rating and usage billing.
• Invoicing experience: generation, line-items, credits, refunds, dunning.
• Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions) for reconciliation.
• Precision with decimal vs floating point, rounding modes, cent-level defects.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring QA engineers.
• Experience with a TMS and Jira.
• Professional English with US Eastern overlap.

Responsibilities

• Act as an active Scrum team member; participate in ceremonies and maintain artifacts.
• Own test strategy for billing, covering rating, mediation, invoicing, taxation, and billing hierarchies.
• Design and document test coverage for month-end cycles, timezone boundaries, reruns, and retries.
• Perform revenue-assurance testing; reconcile CDR volumes vs invoiced amounts.
• Trace billing discrepancies to root cause in rating, mediation, or switch-side issues.
• Enforce requirement intake gate with testable acceptance criteria.
• Set and enforce documentation standards for traceability.
• Drive automation roadmap and conduct code/test reviews of suites.
• Establish and report billing quality metrics (defect escape, coverage, density).
• Mentor billing QA engineers and provide technical direction.
• Communicate and elevate product quality risks with data.
