Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for its Billing Platform. This hybrid role works from Bethesda, MD; Richardson, TX; or Palo Alto, CA, and focuses on automation, functional and performance testing, designing robust QA frameworks, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

You will develop scalable automation for UI, API, and integration tests, execute regression and end-to-end plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and accuracy of billing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software test engineering with automation, functional and performance testing.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python or JavaScript for automation.
• Hands-on with Selenium, Playwright or TestNG.
• Experience designing and implementing custom automation frameworks from scratch.
• Expertise in performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner or k6.
• API testing with Postman, Bruno REST Assured, GraphQL.
• CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD).
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies; SQL/Postgres queries.
• Familiarity with test management tools (Azure DevOps or Jira).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API and integration testing.
• Develop and execute functional, regression, end-to-end and performance test cases.
• Implement and enhance automated test scripts using industry-standard tools.
• Conduct performance testing with tools like k6 and LoadRunner to identify bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and DevOps to integrate testing in CI/CD.
• Ensure test coverage, traceability and maintain test documentation.
• Identify, track and report defects with detailed analysis and recommendations.
• Optimize and improve QA processes to boost efficiency.
