Job Summary

A fast-paced immigration practice seeks a full-time remote bilingual (English/Spanish) immigration paralegal. Experience in the following areas is required: Removal/Deportation Defense, including experience with Asylum cases. Experience with Cancellation of Removal cases is also preferred but not required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assembling immigration application forms along with required evidence via Adobe.
  • Meet with clients (via phone and video) to gather case information and prepare documents.
  • Draft legal documents and affidavits.
  • Manage a voluminous caseload for clients and meet priorities set by case manager.
  • Update practice management software with all client information and case progress.
  • Translation of documents from Spanish to English.
  • Interpret for appointments from Spanish to English and English to Spanish.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (conversing, reading, and writing).
  • Undergraduate degree or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
  • 1 year of experience working in an immigration practice required; candidates with less than one year of experience will be considered if they showcase an in-depth understanding of immigration law and casework knowledge.
  • Solid work history.
  • Have a passion to help underserved populations and to help people from all walks of life.
  • Strong interest in an immigration-based practice.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel: Intermediate/Advanced proficiency.
  • Adobe PDF experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service.
  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt easily to changing circumstances.
