Job summary

Ritchie Bros. is seeking a remote salvage broker to identify and purchase salvage for IAA, verify title documents, and bid competitively to maximize auction profits.

You will mentor CSR staff, assist with escalated customer service situations, and support branch managers on Bidfast sales; duties follow a Pacific Time schedule. This role requires strong knowledge of salvage markets and excellent communication across teams.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of current salvage markets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate with cross‑functional departments.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Detail‑oriented; capable of completing assigned work accurately.
• Ability to work under pressure and research with solid problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and purchase salvage for IAA and verify title documents for sale.
• Provide competitive bids on salvage vehicles to maximize auction profitability.
• Mentor newer CSR employees and assist with escalated customer service; perform management duties when supervisor or manager unavailable.
• Counsel branch managers on Bidfast vehicle sales, set minimum bids ASAP to secure best price.
• Fulfill customer requests for bids and reports; maintain bid records.
• Review auction sales reports to evaluate bid accuracy and profitability.
• Work with providers to resolve disputes regarding salvage values.
• Identify alternative salvage sources to settle claims within policy limits.
• Apply knowledge of organization and market data to support customers.
• Promote Bidfast services to new and existing customers.
