Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a Report Writer (Application Development Journey) to design, develop, test, and maintain BI reports and dashboards using MS SQL Server technologies. You will collaborate with Business Analysts and IT teams to translate requirements into reliable reporting solutions that inform leaders and staff.

This telework eligible, full-time role offers a 5/8 schedule and statewide remote options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six or more years of software development experience with SQL Server and SSRS.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASP.NET, data modeling, and enterprise architecture patterns.
• Experience in lifecycle management of modern applications and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain BI data infrastructure to support reporting needs.
• Create/maintain SSRS reports and data from multiple sources with documentation.
• Collaborate with analysts and IT teams to translate requirements into data models and reports.
• Validate data quality, support data-driven decisions, and optimize report performance.
• Manage data integration changes and user access via Azure DevOps and AD security groups.
