Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections seeks a Report Writer to design, develop, test, and maintain reports and dashboards using Microsoft SQL Server technologies. You will translate business requirements with analysts and IT teams to deliver timely, reliable data access across the agency.

You will validate data quality, deploy reporting solutions, and optimize performance while supporting budgets and programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field also acceptable.
• Minimum of six years in Software Development with experience in SQL Server & SSRS.
• Experience analyzing, designing, coding and implementing applications using SQL Server & SSRS.
• Good understanding of ASP.NET, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns.
• Experience in data modeling and enterprise architecture patterns.
• Experience in lifecycle management of modern application development.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain BI data infrastructure to support business needs.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate reporting needs into technical specs.
• Create/maintain SSRS reports and data sources.
• Implement data models, processing, storage and access for reports.
• Document processes to enable maintenance and future enhancements.
• Perform data quality validation and support data-driven decisions.
• Use Azure DevOps for deployment and security management.
