Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) in Arizona seeks a Business Enterprise Program Specialist to oversee BEP operators and ensure compliance with health codes and policy requirements.

This role reports to the BEP Operations Manager and may be remote within Arizona, with three days in the office weekly. It involves facility visits, inspections, training BEP Operators, budgeting input, and documenting outcomes to meet state standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal and State laws, Randolph-Sheppard Act, and BEP policies.
• Understanding of Federal and State fiscal rules and regulations.
• Experience with budget development and expenditure control.

Responsibilities

• Conducts facility visits and provides ongoing technical assistance to BEP Operators.
• Conducts inspections and monitors food service and vending operations for compliance.
• Provides support and instruction to BEP Operators to ensure policy compliance.
• Documents results and achievements of Licensed BEP Operators.
• Creates purchase, replacement, and repair requests for equipment.
• Plans for the next budget period by compiling past expenditures and estimating future costs.
