Job summary

Welo Data, part of Welocalize, is seeking experienced linguists to support a synthetic data generation program. You will review English source documents with two Bengali translations, select the preferred variant, and provide written justification.

This is a remote freelance contract with project-based work for a technology client. Commitment includes a 2-week workflow, and compensation is paid at $3.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Bengali (spoken and written).
• Strong written communication in the target language.
• Proficiency in English.
• Background in linguistics, translation, or language quality assessment preferred.
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and consistency.
• Familiarity with Romanized script conventions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review English source documents alongside two machine-generated Bengali translations.
• Evaluate both variants based on accuracy, fluency, and overall translation quality.
• Select the preferred translation and provide a written justification for your assessment.
