Job summary

Welo Data, part of Welocalize, seeks experienced linguists to support a synthetic data program. You will review English documents with two Odia translations (Variant A and B) and select the preferred version with a written justification.

The role is remote freelance with a 2-week commitment, ASAP start, paying $3.80/hour. You’ll work in a blind, three-validator setup, requiring strong attention to detail and independence.

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Odia (written and spoken).
• Strong written communication in English.
• Background in linguistics, translation, or language quality assessment.
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Romanized scripts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review English source documents with two Odia machine translations.
• Evaluate accuracy and fluency of Variant A and Variant B.
• Select preferred translation and justify choice in writing.
• Complete samples independently within deadlines.
• Follow project guidelines and blind review process.
