Job summary

CAI is hiring a Benefits Manager to oversee health, welfare, and retirement programs for a fully remote, full-time team. You will lead a benefits group, partner with carriers and brokers, and ensure competitive, compliant offerings while driving continual improvement across the program.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in benefits administration, strong ERISA/ACA knowledge, and a track record of managing staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of progressive experience administering employee benefits programs
• 3+ years of managing or supervising staff
• Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, multi-state compliance
• Experience with HRIS platforms, preferably Workday or similar
• Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivots, reconciliations)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to translate plan provisions
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfort integrating AI tools into benefits administration and reporting

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans
• Lead a team of benefits analysts and coaches
• Serve as primary contact for carriers and brokers
• Lead annual Open Enrollment planning and execution
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and filings
• Reconcile benefit invoices with Finance and Payroll
• Analyze plan utilization and cost trends for design/vendor changes
• Respond to employee questions on eligibility and benefits
• Maintain benefits policies and employee-facing documentation
• Support 5500 filings and nondiscrimination testing
