Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking a Benefit and Performance Auditor to conduct audits of benefit administration, contracts, and performance standards. You will identify process gaps, propose improvements, and prepare formal audit reports aligned with the Internal Audit Plan and regulatory expectations.

This position is eligible to work remote, hybrid, or onsite in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent not required; proven experience in health insurance audits or related fields is expected.
• Must understand benefit administration and contract performance standards.
• Ability to manage multiple audits with shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with audit software and MS Office tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to interpret corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving with root cause analysis focus.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills."

Responsibilities

• Conduct benefit and performance audits to evaluate compliance with contracts, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze operational processes to identify internal control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare accurate and detailed audit work papers, findings, and reports.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to department leadership and other internal stakeholders.
• Support external audits and regulatory reviews by providing requested documentation and insight.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefit programs, audit practices, and system functionality.
• Provide training and guidance to junior auditors.
• Protect confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve audit conditions.
• Assist in developing and improving audit methodologies and procedures.
