Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas, Inc. is seeking a Benefit and Performance Auditor to audit benefit programs, contracts, and performance against regulatory standards.

The role supports accountability by identifying gaps, recommending improvements, and preparing formal audit reports in line with the Internal Audit Plan. This position is eligible to work remote, hybrid, or onsite in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to Kansans’ health

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical thinking with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret contracts, policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct benefit and performance audits to evaluate compliance with contracts, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze operational processes to identify internal control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare accurate and detailed audit work papers, findings, and reports.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to department leadership and other internal stakeholders.
• Support external audits and regulatory reviews by providing requested documentation and insight.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefit programs, audit practices, and system functionality.
• Provide training and guidance to junior auditors.
• Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve audit conditions.
• Assist in developing and improving audit methodologies and procedures.
