Job summary

Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to support attorneys on complex bankruptcy litigation matters. You will draft claims, motions, schedules, and statements while managing calendars and e-filing.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and knowledge of bankruptcy procedures across jurisdictions. The position is hourly and full-time in a Florida office, with possible remote work for the right Florida-based candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience across jurisdictions.
• Strong knowledge of Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Responsibilities

• Draft court filings such as proofs of claim, motions for relief, and fee applications.
• Prepare petitions, schedules, financial statements and discovery requests.
• Manage calendars and deadlines; e-file documents with the court.
• Maintain and organize client matters; communicate with clients and attorneys.
• Read, interpret and index legal/financial records; meet deadlines across locations.
• Support attorneys on bankruptcy litigation across U.S. jurisdictions and internationally.
