Job summary

gpac, a sophisticated North Carolina business-law boutique, is conducting a confidential search for an experienced bankruptcy attorney. The role may be performed fully remotely with affiliation to the Raleigh or Winston-Salem office, handling Chapters 7, 11, and 13 matters with ownership from strategy to resolution.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina, or eligible for prompt admission.
• Minimum 4 years of bankruptcy-law experience across Chapters 7, 11, and 13.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently in a fully remote environment.
• Experience advising debtors, creditors, committees, trustees, and other stakeholders.
• Experience with bankruptcy court filings and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Manage bankruptcy matters from strategy through discharge, dismissal, sale, settlement, or other resolution.
• Represent Chapter 7, 11, and 13 matters, including adversary proceedings.
• Draft petitions, schedules, plans, motions, objections, briefs, discovery, and related filings.
• Advise debtors, creditors, committees, trustees, and stakeholders on insolvency and restructuring.
• Appear in bankruptcy court and negotiate with opposing counsel.
• Collaborate across bankruptcy, corporate, real estate, healthcare, and litigation matters.
• Work remotely with affiliation to the Raleigh or Winston-Salem office.
• Provide sound judgment and client-focused service.
