Job summary

CRC seeks a Background Screening Research Associate for a fully remote role based in North Carolina. You will conduct background investigations, including address histories and court-record searches, to support licensing and compliance efforts.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of maintaining confidentiality while using Microsoft Office and virtual meeting tools to communicate with sources and document findings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
• Ability to obtain Basic FCRA Certification (training provided).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to follow detailed procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and virtual communication tools (Teams, Zoom, etc.).
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive background investigations, including address history traces, social security number validations, and database searches.
• Research and retrieve records from federal, state, and county court systems.
• Analyze and interpret criminal background checks and other licensing requirements.
• Communicate professionally with sources via phone, email, and online platforms.
• Maintain accurate documentation while upholding strict confidentiality and compliance standards.
