KENTECH Consulting Inc. is seeking a Background Investigator for remote, contract-based work supporting public-sector clients.

You will conduct impartial, fact-based investigations, interview candidates by phone or virtually, and compile professional reports under strict deadlines. This independent contractor role requires 2–5 completed cases per week, with a 48-hour turnaround when assigned, and compensation of $200 per completed case.

Competenze

• College degree in Criminal Justice, Journalism, Political Science, Pre-Law, Paralegal Studies, or related field.
• 5+ years of direct experience conducting pre-employment background investigations for law enforcement or government agencies.
• Strong interviewing, research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, online portals, public-record systems, and investigative tools.

Mansioni

• Conduct comprehensive pre-employment background investigations for law enforcement, municipal government, and other public-sector clients.
• Review candidate applications, questionnaires, employment history, criminal history, civil records, and other background information.
• Conduct interviews via phone, virtual platforms, or in person when required by the assignment.
• Research criminal, civil, public-record, and other approved information sources.
• Prepare complete, accurate, objective investigative reports.
• Maintain complete case notes, interview documentation, and supporting information.
