Qualifications

• Active California Private Investigator license required.
• POST Background Investigator certification for sworn investigations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pre-employment background investigations for law enforcement or public safety.
• Strong knowledge of POST background investigation standards.
• Ability to conduct fieldwork within Los Angeles County.
• Experience interviewing candidates and references.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and work remotely with required fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-employment background investigations according to case requirements.
• Perform sworn background investigations for POST-compliant assignments when qualified.
• Handle public safety dispatcher, security management, and supervisory background checks.
• Conduct follow-up work to resolve conflicting or unforeseen findings.
• Interview candidates in person or remotely as required.
• Document findings accurately and timely in reports.
• Maintain case timelines and coordinate with project management and QA teams.
• Submit investigative work products within established timelines.
• Maintain secure handling of personally identifiable information.
