Job summary

LaunchDarkly is hiring a Software Engineer for its SDK team. You will build primary customer touchpoints across 35+ SDKs, enabling feature flagging and performance‑driven design. You will influence architecture, contribute to open-source SDKs, and collaborate across engineering and product teams to deliver high‑quality features.

The role supports a remote, timezone‑diverse work model with opportunities to visit the Bay Area for team events. Strong CS fundamentals and a can‑do attitude are valued.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience building libraries and packages used by other developers.
• Polyglot background with an ability to context switch between languages quickly.
• 5+ years experience with at least two of the following: .NET/Go/Ruby/Python/NodeJS/Java.
• Experience with the following is a plus: C++/Erlang/Haskell/Lua.
• AI SDKs, Observability SDKs, or mobile development experience is a plus.
• Strong computer science fundamentals.
• Committed to working in a communicative, collaborative environment.
• Self-starter and problem solver, capable of independent work.
• Strong testing background: unit, integration, load tests, benchmarks.
• Experience contributing to open-source software.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development for SDKs in supported platforms.
• Implement new features and improvements to meet performance and resiliency requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to release major features.
• Actively maintain open-source repositories.
• Identify areas of improvement and advocate for best practices.
