Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Backend-leaning Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems using TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, SQL/NoSQL databases, and AWS. You will work on user, group, and membership management with a strong emphasis on security and reliability.

This role offers remote work with optional in-office anchor days for SF/NY/London/Berlin depending on location, and includes equity, healthcare, mentorship, and a flexible time-off policy.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture, LDAP, SAML, OAuth2, and web protocols.
• Familiarity with RBAC/ABAC/ReBAC models and access control concepts.
• Experience with SQL and building scalable services in Node.js.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large projects with dependencies.
• Maintain high-scale services and participate in on-call rotations.
• Implement identity synchronization and lifecycle management (SCIM).
• Work with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes) to deliver reliable apps.
• Build enterprise software using TypeScript, REST APIs, and JSON.
