Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Software Engineer, Back-End to join our remote-first engineering team. You’ll build Ruby on Rails services, work with TypeScript front-end, PostgreSQL, and embrace Agile practices to ship value quickly.

You’ll collaborate with product and design teams, pair program, participate in standups and retros, and own features from idea to production. Location flexibility supports CST/EST hours; visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Qualifications

• Track record shipping small to medium size software projects.
• Proficiency coding in Ruby, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Startup-speed environment with fast learning and ownership.
• Location in CST/EST hours strongly preferred; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable Ruby on Rails code and APIs.
• Deliver stories and features in small, iterative cycles.
• Pair program and participate in daily standups and retros.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide SME support.
