Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Backend Engineer (Healthcare) to design and maintain secure, scalable server-side systems for critical health applications. You will ensure PHI is protected and interoperability across health platforms is seamless.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, focused on healthcare systems.
• Experience building HIPAA-compliant backend services and handling PHI securely.
• Proven track record with EHR integrations (Epic / Cerner) and healthcare data interchange.
• Strong knowledge of HL7 and FHIR standards for interoperability.
• Experience implementing audit logging and data safeguards.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale HIPAA-compliant backend services for healthcare apps.
• Design robust integrations with EHR platforms such as Epic and Cerner.
• Develop data pipelines and APIs using HL7 and FHIR standards.
• Implement encryption and access controls for PHI and sensitive data.
• Build audit logging and monitoring for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with security teams to protect health data across the stack.
