BairesDev is seeking a HIPAA Compliance Engineer to design and oversee secure, compliant systems for handling PHI. You will ensure architectures meet regulatory standards while enabling efficient health data management.

You will work on EHR integrations (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) and build robust audit logging, with a focus on HL7 and FHIR data exchange. This is a 100% remote international role requiring strong English skills.

Formación

• 5+ years in Software Engineering focused on HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Experience handling Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Hands-on experience with EHR integrations and HL7/FHIR.
• Strong background in audit logging and security protocols for health data.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement safeguards to ensure HIPAA compliance across platforms.

HIPAA Compliance Engineer at BairesDev

As a HIPAA Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for building and overseeing secure, compliant systems that safeguard sensitive healthcare data. You will ensure that all technical architectures meet rigorous regulatory standards while enabling efficient health data management and interoperability.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement robust technical safeguards to ensure full HIPAA compliance across all platforms.
• Integrate and manage electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth with internal workflows.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive audit logging and monitoring systems to track access to Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Architect secure data exchange pipelines utilizing healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security protocols and privacy-by-design principles into the software development lifecycle.
• Conduct regular technical assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks to medical data integrity and confidentiality.
