Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Software Engineer for Ads Integrity in San Francisco. You will build backend systems that detect and prevent harmful, deceptive, or policy-violating activity across the ads lifecycle, with a focus on low-latency, scalable solutions.

You will integrate ML signals and work closely with ML teams to productionize integrity protections. The role emphasizes building robust distributed systems, ownership over architecture, and collaboration across Ads, Safety, and Product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build large-scale backend systems to detect and prevent harmful activity across the ads ecosystem.
• Build low-latency integrity infrastructure capable of evaluating risk signals in real time.
• Develop scalable risk-signal pipelines and enforcement infrastructure across advertiser lifecycle.
• Create onboarding, verification, account-risk, fraud-detection, and abuse-prevention capabilities.
• Support content safety and enforcement of unsafe or deceptive ads.
• Collaborate with ML teams to integrate classifiers and model signals into production systems.
• Establish review tooling and integrity metrics to balance detection quality with advertiser impact.
• Define architecture and technical strategy for Ads Integrity.
