Job summary

Databricks Inc. seeks a Specialist Solutions Architect to guide enterprise customers in building and deploying Databricks on AWS, spanning architecture, platform administration, and production deployment.

This role can be remote, with responsibilities across design, implementation, and optimization of AI workloads. The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in solutions architecture or similar senior technical roles, strong Python/SQL skills, and deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, IaC, and data

Qualifications

• 6+ years in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or senior hands-on technical role.
• Hands-on experience architecting cloud infrastructure for AI/ML workloads, including GPUs/TPUs, scalable model serving, and cost-performance balancing.
• Advanced expertise in security & identity, networking & deployments, platform administration, and InfraOps with IaC tools.
• Strong coding proficiency in Python and SQL; ability to live-code, debug, and build solutions.
• Deep expertise in distributed data systems architecture and cloud-native data platforms.
• Proficiency with Databricks Platform and rapid upskilling in areas like real-time/streaming or data governance.
• Proven ability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders.
• Track record of driving platform adoption and consumption growth within accounts.
• Excellent communication skills for translating architectures to business value.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Guide enterprise customers through the full lifecycle of Databricks on AWS, from initial design to production deployment.
• Architect and scale compute and networking infrastructure tailored for AI workloads and large-scale GenAI deployments.
• Serve as SME in AWS infrastructure, IaC, cloud networking, and identity management.
• Drive technical wins in competitive scenarios through differentiated solutions.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (DSAs, SAs, SSAs, Partners) to deliver complex customer solutions.
• Provide structured feedback on customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence product direction.
