Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Software Engineer II for a remote role that can be hired in AZ, NC, or TX. You will design, develop, and support cloud‑native solutions across Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms using AWS services and modern frameworks.

The role requires hands‑on experience with AWS, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Terraform, and containerization with Docker/OpenShift, plus CI/CD expertise and strong communication for stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands‑on AWS cloud engineering and architecture experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting cloud‑native applications on AWS.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Experience designing and implementing event‑driven, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Strong hands‑on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and/or Node.js.
• Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and OpenShift.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
• Ability to build highly available, fault‑tolerant, secure, and scalable enterprise solutions.
• Proven experience leading development teams and driving technical architecture decisions.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and support cloud‑native solutions across Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions.
• Participate in technical design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Lead development teams and drive technical architecture decisions.
