Job summary

Peraton seeks a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure. You will implement IaC with Terraform, build CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, and advise on architecture choices across teams.

Responsibilities include automation, monitoring, security, and incident response. The role supports remote work while ensuring secure, compliant, and reliable services for data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Pre-employment credit check may be required.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience, or Masters with 6 years, or HS diploma with 12 years of experience.
• Deep knowledge of AWS architecture, networking (VPCs/routing), security (IAM/policies, encryption), serverless/microservices, and containerization (ECS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• Experience designing GitLab CI/CD pipelines and reusable components for enterprise delivery.
• Hands-on experience monitoring, analyzing SaaS logs; strong scripting in Python and Bash; Ansible a plus.
• Observability, reliability, and DR practices; automation tooling (Terraform, Python, GitLab CI).
• Strong Git skills, including GitFlow branching.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD (GitLab CI).
• Guide stakeholders on deployment strategies and patterns.
• Own end-to-end automation from IaC to production operations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and enhance observability.
• Provide guidance to AWS users and managed services.
• Maintain secure, scalable, highly available cloud infra.
• Monitor environments, troubleshoot incidents, optimize performance.
• Collaborate with security, development, and infra teams.
• Document configurations, diagrams, and SOPs.
