The AVP, Insurance & Operational Accounting at Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) oversees reserve, reinsurance settlement accounting and related reporting across all legal entities, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and policy compliance.

You will partner with Reinsurance Ops, Actuarial and FP&A to drive close, improve processes, and mentor analysts. The role demands strong US GAAP knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership in a fast-paced

Competenze

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience in Life & Annuity (re)insurance.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, US STAT, SFS, and EBS.
Experience with intercompany accounting, reserves, reinsurance, and analytics.
Proven ability to maintain internal controls, reconciliations, and ledger accuracy.
Hands-on journal entries, variance analyses, and audits experience.
Proficient Excel; ERP systems (SAP, Workday) and BI tools (Power BI).
Strong communication and collaboration across departments.

Mansioni

Oversee monthly journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations across reporting bases.
Manage accounting and journal entries for reinsurance settlements with Reinsurance Ops.
Review data inputs with Reinsurance Ops for settlements and reserves.
Coordinate daily and month-end cash activity accounting.
Oversee reserves accounting with Actuarial and others across reporting bases.
Prepare entries related to Sidecar transactions and Modco payables.
Oversee R2R, A/P, A/R, T&E, TPA and related costs and settlements.
Ensure intercompany allocations and settlements comply with policy.
Coordinate quarterly ledger feeds and new account setups.
Lead process improvements, automation, and documentation.
Assist audit requests and provide schedules.
Collaborate with analytics to align ledger inputs with outputs.
Coach and mentor senior associates and analysts.
