Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) is seeking an AVP, Insurance & Operational Accounting to oversee reserve and reinsurance settlement accounting across entities.

You will ensure accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and policy adherence while partnering with Reinsurance Ops and actuarial teams. The role requires 7+ years of accounting experience in Life & Annuity reinsurance, strong US GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with SAP/Workday/Coupa/Workiva/Power BI.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience within the Life & Annuity (re)insurance industry or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, US STAT, SFS, and EBS accounting principles and reporting requirements.
• Experience with intercompany transactions, reserves, reinsurance, expense accounting and/or financial analytics.
• Proven ability to maintain internal controls, reconciliations, and ledger accuracy.
• Experience with audits and ability to respond to audit inquiries with clarity.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with SAP, Workday, Coupa, Workiva, Power BI.

Aufgaben

• Oversee monthly journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for balances across reporting bases.
• Oversee accounting for reinsurance settlements with Reinsurance Ops.
• Review data inputs used for settlement and reserve accounting with Reinsurance Ops.
• Manage daily and month-end cash activity accounting and ensure alignment with settlements.
• Oversee reserves accounting in collaboration with Actuarial across bases.
• Prepare entries related to Sidecar transactions and Modco payables.
• Oversee all operational accounting activities including R2R, A/P, A/R, T&E, TPA, and fixed assets.
• Ensure intercompany allocations and settlements policy compliance.
• Coordinate quarterly ledger feeds and new account setups.
• Ensure ledger integrity and reserve process compliance.
• Execute account reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Identify ledger feed processing and automation improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to quarterly close coordination and ledger reviews.
• Coordinate with offshore team for timely reporting.
• Mentor and coach senior associates to build capability.
