Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) seeks a seasoned Vice President, Operational Accounting Lead to ensure accuracy and timeliness of cash, debt, and expense ledgers across all entities. You will lead a team, drive GAAP-adherent processes, and implement AI-enabled improvements.

You will oversee R2R, A/P, A/R, T&E, and intercompany settlements, partnering with Treasury and Finance to deliver high-quality reports and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required or equivalent.
• CPA or CA preferred for leadership role.
• 10+ years of progressive financial management with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of Life & Annuity and regulatory accounting practices.
• Experience with US GAAP/STAT/SFS and EBS rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and refine general ledger structure and chart of accounts.
• Lead legal entity accounting, consolidation, and intercompany processes.
• Oversee FX translations, cash flow statements, and related-party accounting.
• Develop and maintain account hierarchy and journal entry controls.
• Prepare SAB 99 support with Financial Reporting and Controls.
• Implement automated controls and reconciliations across entities.
• Drive timely, accurate financial reporting and audits preparation.
• Mentor accounting professionals and foster a results-driven culture.
