Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) in the United States seeks an AVP, Investment Accounting Manager to lead the investment accounting team and oversee month-end/quarter-end close for a complex portfolio.

You will drive GAAP, US STAT and Bermuda STAT reporting, supervise net investment income analysis, and reinforce SOX controls across the general ledger, reconciliations, and audits. This role emphasizes building a high-performing team, partnering with front-office, and delivering

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with CPA preferred.
7+ years accounting experience, 3+ in investment accounting.
Experience with US GAAP and STAT reporting for insurers.
SOX controls experience and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

Onboard new portfolios to the investment accounting platform and build reporting.
Oversee month-end/quarter-end close and footnotes for GAAP/STAT.
Lead and mentor the investment accounting team and manage audits.
Develop automated investment reporting and strengthen internal controls.
Collaborate with front-office and asset managers on new transactions.
