Job summary

Arora Engineers, LLC seeks an Aviation Principal Program Manager – Special Systems to lead large, multi-discipline airport IT programs. The role can be remote and requires deep aviation Special Systems expertise in active operational environments.

You will own scope, schedule, budget, staffing, governance, and executive reporting, interfacing with airport authorities, airlines, and partners while guiding multidisciplinary teams toward on-time, on-budget delivery and strong QA/QC alignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in aviation IT, airport systems integration, or Special Systems program delivery.
• Proven track record leading large, complex airport technology programs with multiple disciplines.
• Deep understanding of airport IT environments including telecom and security systems.
• Strong program governance, change control, and commercial discipline.
• Active involvement in aviation IT forums; PMP certification required; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of large aviation Special Systems programs from initiation to closeout.
• Own program scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and client performance.
• Serve as executive interface with airport authorities, airlines, and partners.
• Establish governance, reporting cadence, and dashboards.
• Coordinate across airport IT and Special Systems environments including telecom, network, security, and passenger systems.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams without day-to-day design work.
• Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and executive escalation.
• Drive scope control, change management, and fee negotiation to protect commercial interests.
• Ensure alignment with delivery standards, QA/QC, and governance requirements.
• Manage program teams including Project Leads, Design Leads, BIM staff, and external stakeholders.
