Job summary

Waveguide is seeking an Associate AV Designer in the United States to contribute to audiovisual project delivery while developing technical knowledge and documentation skills. You will complete tasks under Designers, Senior Designers, and the Lead AV Designer, ensuring alignment with project goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and ongoing professional development, with 90% remote work and minimal travel. Training and certification opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related professional experience in building engineering and design (electrical, mechanical, AV and low voltage systems) or equivalent in education.
• AVIXA CTS certification preferred or plan to achieve within 12 months.
• General understanding of commercial and institutional AV tech, building systems, and design/construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned production tasks within established schedule, effort, and quality expectations.
• Support development and revision of AV drawings, models, schedules, details, and related documentation.
• Track assignments, communicate progress, and raise questions or constraints promptly.
• Develop defined portions of AV designs under guidance.
• Incorporate redlines, update device plans, rack elevations, details, and other documentation.
• Apply templates, standards, naming conventions, and workflows.
• Research products and technical information as directed.
• Perform self-checks before submitting work.
• Participate in reviews and respond to comments accurately and completely.
• Use feedback to improve knowledge, documentation quality, and independence.
• Coordinate tasks with project team and request clarification when needed.
• Maintain organized project files and communicate professionally with internal team members.
• Build foundational knowledge of AV systems, infrastructure, documentation, and project delivery.
• Participate in training, manufacturer education, and relevant certification development.
