Job summary

DLR Group in Cleveland is seeking an entry-level Audiovisual Systems Designer to support the design and delivery of AV systems across project phases.

You'll work with senior designers and integrated teams, apply BIM protocols, develop drawings and specs, and help translate client goals into effective AV designs. Some travel may be required.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and contributing to design excellence within a 4-day in-office model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, architecture, or field related to audio and video equipment use and integration.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in audiovisual systems design or related discipline.
• Experience designing audiovisual systems for commercial, education, or civic environments.
• Ability to travel as projects require.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• AVIXA-Recognized AV Technologist (at minimum).
• Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary and geographically diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior designers and integrated design teams to develop audiovisual system solutions.
• Apply DLR Group practice standards, QA/QC procedures, and BIM protocols.
• Assist in developing technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Identify and propose solutions to audiovisual design challenges using industry codes and standards.
• Coordinate design input with architects, engineers, and other consultants.
• Provide accurate, high-quality deliverables that meet schedules and budgets.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas to elevate design excellence.
• Manage individual deliverables to align with time and budget targets.
