Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Testing Principal (MUMPS) to lead QA for mission-critical healthcare applications in a remote position. You will support testing across HL7, FHIR, and EDI transactions, develop comprehensive test plans, and drive data integrity validations for legacy systems.

The role requires extensive experience with MUMPS/Cache, SDLC knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior testers while coordinating with cross-functional teams in a government-healthcare

Qualifications

• Experience testing healthcare, government, or regulated environments (SDLC familiarity).
• Experience testing enterprise healthcare applications (clinical, benefits, or operations).
• Experience supporting legacy, long-lived systems.
• Experience testing applications built with MUMPS/InterSystems Cache.
• Ability to validate healthcare workflows and system functionality.
• Experience creating detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and cases.
• Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Ability to analyze logs and test results to identify root causes.
• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA EDI transactions.

Responsibilities

• Support testing and QA for mission-critical healthcare apps in MUMPS/Cache.
• Develop and execute test plans, cases, scripts, and procedures.
• Validate enhancements, releases, defects, and upgrades.
• Coordinate functional, integration, regression, UAT, system testing.
• Verify data integrity across legacy healthcare apps and interfaces.
• Test HL7, FHIR, EDI transactions and external partner systems.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, and users.
• Provide testing metrics, defect tracking, and status reporting.
• Mentor junior testers and lead testing efforts.
