Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a motivated claims trainee for an entry-level role in Florida. After initial in-person training, you may have flexible work-from-home time defined by leadership. The position covers investigation, evaluation, and resolution of claims with close supervision.

You will study policies, learn company procedures, and build skills in negotiation, data entry, and loss adjustment while serving agents and insureds throughout the lifecycle of a claim.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or direct equivalent in property/casualty claims.
• Ability to organize data, multi-task, and make decisions independently.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write reports and correspondence.
• Ability to resolve complex issues and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to drive and maintain a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims.
• Study policies, endorsements, and forms to build knowledge of products.
• Learn and comply with claim handling procedures.
• Develop negotiation and settlement skills for claims.
• Interact with agents, insureds, and others to resolve claims.
• Use designated programs for loss adjustment and data entry.
• Study and obtain an adjuster license if required by statute.
