Job summary

Cambia Health is seeking an Associate Medical Director Behavioral Health or Utilization Management Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for behavioral health across all lines of business. The role emphasizes utilization reviews, policy development, and collaboration with providers to improve access, outcomes, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with unrestricted license in one of four states (WA, OR, ID, UT).
• Board certification in general psychiatry or child psychiatry; dual certification preferred.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience.
• Two years of health plan medical utilization management or case management experience.
• Ability to render clinical opinions on medical conditions and treatments under review.

Responsibilities

• Completes Behavioral Health utilization management reviews, including PA, appeals and post-service.
• Develops and implements Behavioral Health policies and programs with leadership in UM.
• Oversees operational policies and standards for an integrated behavioral health program.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on behavioral health and provides clinical leadership.
• Collaborates with executives and providers to promote understanding of utilization management.
• Keeps abreast of industry trends and opportunities to improve outcomes and cost efficiency.
