Job summary

Our Client is seeking an Associate Workers Compensation Attorney to join their legal team. The role covers the full litigation process from investigation to trial, with representation in a variety of proceedings and strategic guidance for clients and colleagues.

The Associate Attorney is a remote position, but the candidate must live within commutable distance to New Jersey for occasional in-office meetings.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in New Jersey is required.
• Demonstrated litigation experience, including discovery, trial preparation, and courtroom proceedings.
• Strong research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently while meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with billable hour requirements and timekeeping practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the litigation process from investigation through trial preparation and court proceedings.
• Represent clients in depositions, site inspections, hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.
• Research and analyze applicable laws to develop effective legal strategies and communicate findings to claims representatives and insured clients.
• Draft and present clear, well-reasoned legal opinions, pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with claims representatives, insured clients, and internal departments.
• Conduct training sessions for Legal, Claims, or other business units as needed.
• Track and record billable hours accurately and efficiently.
• Independently manage a caseload with little to no supervision.
