Job summary

Five Star Placements, a Bay Area civil defense litigation firm, seeks an associate attorney to take over an active docket from day one, with ownership of cases and potential to grow toward partnership. The position is remote, with in-person appearances for court, depositions, or site inspections about twice a month.

Office space is available if more face time is desired, and the team supports collaboration.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice in California.
• 2–3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong legal writing and deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Run your own caseload of personal injury, premises liability, products liability, and landlord-tenant matters, from intake through trial preparation.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft motions and legal memoranda.
• Handle discovery and oral argument.
• Appear in person for court, depositions, or site inspections in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area counties, about twice a month.
• Maintain regular communication with clients throughout their cases.
