PLOS is seeking an Associate Director, Publishing to provide strategic leadership for its journal portfolio. This role involves ensuring that publishing strategies align with organizational goals and advancing PLOS's mission.

The Associate Director will lead a team of Publishers, translating organizational strategy into clear priorities and ensuring effective coordination. The position requires a strong background in STM publishing and expertise in managing senior publishing professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience launching Open Access journals from proposal to publication.
• Strong commercial and financial skills, including experience with budgeting and forecasting.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans delivering measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Publishers managing journal performance.
• Develop and implement portfolio-wide publishing strategies.
• Ensure that journal strategies support a clear and differentiated value proposition.
