Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director, US Oncology Payer Market Access to drive payer strategies, value messaging, and access initiatives for oncology medicines. You will partner with brand teams, alliance partners, and internal functions to shape current and future indications and ensure patient access across payer segments.

Location options include Upper Gwynedd, PA (Hybrid) or Remote, with a salary range between $142,400 and $224,100 plus bonus and incentives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years combined experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing, Marketing Customer Management, Managed Care or Sales.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking and planning.
• Proactive, able to manage change, anticipate risks and design controls.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written & verbal).
• Ability to lead across departments and engage senior management.
• Strong judgment, prioritization, and decision-making with view of broader strategy.
• Collaborative, inclusive approach with diverse teams.
• Understanding healthcare trends and policy issues across pharmacy and medical benefits.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer-specific strategies with alliance partners and internal teams to achieve patient access and growth.
• Support development and execution of payer/market access strategies aligned to brand objectives.
• Input into payer value propositions, channel strategies and branded promotions.
• Own messaging planning and field-facing communications for Oncology teams.
• Provide US perspectives to Global Access and Health Economics teams; identify business development opportunities.
• Collaborate across Organized Customer Access, Market Research, policy, pricing, and legal to build value propositions.
• Support alliance and new product forecasting discussions.
• Assess patient out-of-pocket costs for mono and combo therapies across pharmacy and medical benefits.
