Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director for US Oncology Payer/Market Access in North Wales, PA (Hybrid) or Remote. The role focuses on developing and executing payer and market access strategies for oncology medicines, collaborating with internal teams, alliance partners, and external agencies, and guiding value messaging to payers and providers.

In this role, you will influence current and future indications, support list pricing and lifecycle management, and contribute to access initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years combined experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing, Marketing Customer Management, Managed Care or Sales.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, analytical critical thinking and planning skills.
• Proactive nature and ability to manage change, anticipate risks, and design controls or mitigation.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written & verbal).
• Proficient at leading across department and roles and effectively engaging senior management.
• Strong judgment, prioritization, and decision - making skills, with understanding of broader context of corporate strategies.
• Comfort and confidence in working with teams and backgrounds; inclusive behaviors; seeks perspectives and experiences.
• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare trends and policy issues around pharmacy and medical benefits.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with alliance partners and internal teams to develop customer-specific strategies and execute to achieve patient access and business growth.
• Collaborate to develop payer/market access strategies aligned with brand objectives across current and future indications.
• Input into payer value propositions, channel strategies, and branded promotions.
• Serve as the main point for messaging and communications for field teams.
• Provide input from US perspective into Global Access Teams and related units.
• Coordinate cross-functionally to build value propositions for collaboration oncology medicines with compliant access.
• Support alliance and new product forecasting discussions as needed.
• Understand patient costs and out-of-pocket implications for mono and combo therapies.
