Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director, Engineering within Biologics External Manufacturing Technology to lead technical transfers and collaborate with external partners for biologics manufacturing. Based in the US, you will drive complex transfers, ensure compliance, and manage cross-functional teams to deliver on-time, within-budget programs.

You will partner with Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Procurement to evaluate partner capabilities, develop validation strategies, and optimize processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or science is required.
• 8+ years post-bachelor’s experience in vaccine/biologics manufacturing or related operations.
• Advanced degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a single point of technical contact to External Partners and sites.
• Leads tech transfer delivery on time and within budget.
• Guides assessment of process configurations and ensures standards compliance.
• Collaborates with QA, Regulatory, Procurement to evaluate External Partners.
• Develops validation strategies for new and existing products.
