Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP seeks a talented Associate attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join our nationally recognized Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Practice Group, with a focus on incident response. This position offers fully remote work arrangements from anywhere within the contiguous United States, with a preference for candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling data privacy and cybersecurity matters, particularly

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience handling data privacy, cybersecurity, or related legal matters, with incident response experience preferred.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state or jurisdiction.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate proactively during time-sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients responding to cybersecurity incidents, including network intrusions and data breaches.
• Assist in navigating incident response processes with forensic investigators and insurers.
• Analyze federal and state data breach notification requirements and develop response strategies.
• Draft and review incident response documentation and breach notifications.
• Provide timely, practical legal guidance throughout incident response and manage multiple matters.
