Job summary

MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, seeks an Associate Counsel to provide legal support on corporate and commercial matters, including contract negotiation and management, and regulatory compliance. You will help mitigate legal risk while aligning with business needs and operational goals.

Ideal candidates hold a JD, a US license, a Bachelor's degree, and have excellent writing and analytical skills. Remote work is possible up to 100%, with occasional visits to US facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Engineering or other technical degrees are a plus.
• Juris Doctorate is required.
• Must be a licensed attorney and in good standing to practice law in the United States.
• Previous legal experience is a plus, but not required.
• Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
• Spanish/Japanese bilingual abilities and/or experience living in Japan or working with Japanese companies are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on various legal issues relating to company business practices.
• Review, draft, and assist in the negotiation of various contracts and agreements, corporate policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with regulatory compliance issues.
• Review and update confidentiality agreements.
• Assist in developing legal training materials.
• Provide support in maintaining executed agreements and other corporate documents.
• Additional duties as required.
