Job summary

GMKE is a growing Atlanta-based civil litigation firm seeking an associate attorney to help expand in South and Coastal Georgia. Initially remote, with a Savannah office planned soon, the role offers ground-floor growth with a strong team leader.

Requirements include a Juris Doctor and Georgia Bar admission (SC bar a plus), ability to manage a caseload, and experience in insurance defense or litigation. You will handle pleadings, depositions, motions, settlements, and trial prep.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active Georgia Bar membership.
• Strong organizational and independent caseload management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for depositions and advocacy.
• Ability to meet shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Insurance defense or litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct case intake and review files with insured clients.
• File responsive pleadings within deadlines.
• Draft and serve discovery and coordinate with clients.
• Communicate with insureds and claims representatives.
• Take and defend depositions and assess credibility.
• Analyze non-party records for inconsistencies.
• Prepare detailed case evaluations for carriers.
• Engage in motion practice and pretrial motions.
• Develop litigation strategies with senior attorneys.
• Participate in settlements and mediations.
• Prepare cases for trial and jury selection.
• Represent clients in court proceedings.
• Meet 1,750 annual billable hour requirement and maintain task list.
