Job summary

SAIF is seeking an Associate Actuary to join a collaborative team that influences rates, reserves and forecasts across Oregon workers' compensation programs.

You will work with senior executives, partners, and auditors to deliver analytical insights and robust financial projections. Remote work is possible with occasional travel to Salem; strong communication and strategic thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field and CAS membership.
• ACAS credential or progress toward CAS required.
• Experience in workers' compensation actuarial work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop loss and loss adjustment expense reserves.
• Prepare inputs for annual and quarterly financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Develop rate recommendations and maintain pricing/monitoring tools.
• Support underwriting with pricing guidance and underwriting guidelines.
• Maintain financial forecasts, capital models, and ORSA documentation.
• Support reinsurance program and monitor coverage and reporting.
• Coordinate with Data & Analytics to ensure data integrity.
• Provide coaching and peer review for actuarial work.
